EriMeals Privacy Policy

1. What EriMeals Does

EriMeals is a personal recipe discovery tool that connects to your Pinterest account to help you search and filter your saved pins by cuisine, meal type, and dietary preferences. It reads your boards and pins through the Pinterest API and stores a local copy to enable search functionality.

2. Information We Collect

When you connect your Pinterest account, EriMeals accesses and stores:

Pinterest account information: your Pinterest username
Board data: names and descriptions of your Pinterest boards
Pin data: titles, descriptions, image URLs, and links of pins on your boards
Authentication tokens: OAuth access and refresh tokens required to communicate with Pinterest on your behalf

EriMeals requests read-only access to your Pinterest account. It cannot create, modify, or delete any content on Pinterest.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to:

Display your boards and pins within the EriMeals interface
Automatically tag pins with recipe-related categories (cuisine, meal type, dietary info)
Enable full-text search and filtering across your synced pins

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the EriMeals service to you.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a database on the server running EriMeals
OAuth tokens are stored in the database to maintain your Pinterest connection
All communication with Pinterest uses HTTPS encryption
EriMeals does not transmit your data to any third parties

5. Data Sharing

EriMeals does not share, sell, rent, or disclose your personal information or Pinterest data to any third parties.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as you use EriMeals. You can request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, all stored pins, boards, tags, and authentication tokens associated with your account will be permanently removed.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Disconnect your Pinterest account at any time
Request a copy of all data EriMeals stores about you
Request deletion of all your data
Revoke EriMeals access via your Pinterest security settings

8. Pinterest API Usage

EriMeals uses the Pinterest API v5 in compliance with the Pinterest Developer and API Terms of Service and the Pinterest Developer Guidelines.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
